I think so

I think it adds to and sustains hit points ( adter fights too ) and the physical aspects of character in ways, unsure but may add to life expectency, anyone sure about this ??

If the old man/Father is unneeded they may kill him by working him til dead if it's true, lol, killing for the inheritance.

It heals you. Other than that I don't know if there are additional affects.

On a similar note, what does training do?

You earn some experience. Its not much and with the change made in 1.2, it is better to work if you can. However if you have someone that can't work in a business it is great for getting them at least a little xp. In my current game I haven't bought a business for my wife yet and have her continiously training to get her at least some xp.

This may sound dumb, but where do you train and how do you do it?

Hi Rohan 721, you train up your character by moving him into the house and click on a button that have a shape of a cross i think and he will train in the house automatically for a specified amount of time.

I use training all the time. If you are newly married, I put the char who can't yet work in a business, for whatever reason, in the house and train a lot. It takes some time, yes, but you do get good exp points. I've taken many characters very high that way. If you just have one business to start, and are putting all your resources into that business, only one of your prime chars can work there anyway. I usually have the other one home with the kids and train train train. By that time, the kids are in school and you usually have money for another business to assign to the second character. I think it works really well. My current game has both main chars (first generation) up to level 7s

As for sleeping, it is absolutely necessary at times. Twice, prime male characters of mine had been courting and their fiancees were practically dead from being attacked. I was afraid both times they were going to die before they could be married. Each time, as soon as my prime char could marry, I put his wife in the house and put her to sleep until she healed. It was touch and go there for a while, both times!

I don't bother with sleep unless there is healing involved. I didn't think you needed to.

I'm gonna have to look in that file...cause I did not know that...my character usually don't live long past 90...well until I get my alchemist building pumping out Dr. faust elixr's......usually my kids or grandkids get the use of that

I started new game to try this out, to not sleep every night.

Havent got much faust elixir, could only afford 2 so far and i'm saving everyone I will get for my unborned kids since the market is crap. My char is now 80-85 years old and the candle is half burnt - looks like I will last for ever

I havent been in any fights yet and only got 2 serious illness' that I couldnt sleep off, had to visit the hospital for the cure.

Yeah you have to produce those faust elixr's yourself in order to seriously use them

Maybe the reason for my characters early death would be all the fights I get in...
If I'm not knocked unconcious at least once or twice then in my book I'm not trying hard enough
