History of Murray
The point of no return. One who crosses it can never go back to the outher world. The one thing that kept the prisoners in and the magical ore coming out every day. The Barrier. Murray heard a lot about it. He even read a couple books while still being in his room in Venguard. It is said that it was created by the power of the focus stones that contained great power. A power so great that even the strongest Mages of the realm could not control. He knew one of them, his name was Torrenz. He was a companion of his master when the world was younger that today and when life was easier. But he could read all the books on the world and he would still not be prepared for what he experienced while he was passing through the Barrier. It was like all the world turned black and the Barrier was a solid wall of lava. He tought that his eyes are burning and that he will never be able to see again. And maybe that would be so if a royal soldier wouldn't cover his eyes the moment he stepped out on the open. It was an act of fear but now he was gratefull for it. Another act of fear or maybe respect was that Murray was sent in alone and not like normal prisoners that were took in with the load. And one more thing was strange to him: he heard that the royal troops push you in from the cliff so you fall into a lake bellow in a great splash for fun. Only women are spared this humiliation but he was spared it too. He was lowered it slowly and on the other side there was nobody to give him a welcome speach and would greed him to the Colony like he tought they will. And even if there would be anybody to greet him he wouldn't even noticed him. He passed out as soon as he came through the Barrier and the last thing he remembers the flames in the Barrier.
Murray woke up the next day and he was unable to move or even to uncover his eyes. So he just laid there until he heard footsteps. Somebody said with a disapointing voice: "Looks like there isn't anything interesting going on here today Fingers. Nothing to steal... I mean take to the Old Camp." Suddenly Fingers said: "Wait! There is something interesting here! Look at the figure laying on the plateau." One of them ran towards Murray and uncovered his eyes. He saw a figure in a red and black dress and the figure said to him: "Well it look like he's alive and breathing and not to mention listening. The fellow doesn't even have anything worth on him. How suprising." Grinds. "Looks like he went through a lot so there is no harm in being at least a little bit nicer to him. For starters let me intreduce myself. I'm called Fingers." And Murray repeated: "Fingers..." and passed out again.
